SUMMARY

Brazilian pop star Anitta has recently defended Afro-Brazilian religious practices after facing criticism for incorporating elements of Candomblé into her music video for "Funk Rave." Anitta, who has previously shown her support for Afro-Brazilian culture, emphasized the importance of respecting these traditions, which have historically faced prejudice and misunderstanding. In a statement, she highlighted that her artistic choices aim to honor and celebrate Brazil's rich cultural heritage, including the Afro-Brazilian faiths that have significantly influenced the country’s music and identity.

The controversy arose as some critics accused Anitta of cultural appropriation, but she argued that her intent was to shine a light on and pay tribute to Candomblé and its followers. By showcasing these spiritual elements, Anitta hopes to combat ignorance and foster greater appreciation for the diverse cultural landscape of Brazil. This stance aligns with her broader efforts to use her platform to promote social awareness and cultural respect. Anitta's actions underscore a growing movement among Brazilian artists to embrace and elevate Afro-Brazilian traditions within the mainstream media.

NEWSCRITICISM A clash of religions have descended upon the Brazillian Civilization had manifested in a pluralist society because of the role of the media in the promotion of any of the Six Pillars of Civilization. This, we note, is not uncommon for such things to happen; a clash of diverse religious practices will always happen simply because there is too many worldviews to exist regarding its interpretation of the Immaterial. However, while Anitta struggles to defend her actions in regards to the controversy - in a pluralist society, there should be an instiutional polity in Brazil that promotes minority religions and finds ways to make them belong into the civilization itself: that is, peaceful integration through recognition as part of the Brazillian civilizations' identity.

Thus, in regards to this phenomena, there should be some form of an interfaith organization that aims to preserve and promote the different faiths of the country in order to "become one" with the common identity and worldview of the Brazillian Civilization. Such an organization aims to provided preservation welfare (that is, a system in which religious diversity is safeguarded while fostering unity and mutual respect among various faith communities as part of the common unity of society and man within its civilization) towards the many religions of the country in order to foster common growth and unity amongst the people themselves. It should not just be artists and promoters who will promote these minority faiths; there should be a common organization to facilitate this purpose!
